Treatments
for jaw joint problems and TMJD from Ascot Dental Clinic
TMJD, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, makes it difficult
for the jaw joint to open and close. The condition is usually
characterised by a dull ache in and around the ear, cheekbone
or neck, a headache, a clicking or similar noise when you
move your jaw and even jaw locking. If you have any of these,
or similar symptoms it’s important that you get the
problem diagnosed by a dentist.
As a specialist in this area, we can offer you a range of
treatments, together with plenty of help and advice. One of
the commonest causes of TMJD is teeth grinding so we may recommend
that you wear a custom made splint at night, to improve the
way your upper and lower teeth fit together.
