| Root canal treatments
from Ascot Dental Clinic
Root Canal treatment is needed when the ‘pulp’,
the blood and nerve supply of the tooth, becomes infected.
If left untreated, this infection can spread, leading to a
painful abscess. In some cases, the tooth may even need to
be removed. So it makes sense to get treatment straight away,
as soon as you become aware that your tooth hurts.
Root Canal treatment is usually carried out under a local
anaesthetic; the root canal is thoroughly cleaned to remove
all traces of the infection before being filled to prevent
further infection.
Sometimes this can take more than one visit but rest assured
you’ll have a wide range of natural looking fillings
to choose from. Ensuring that your treated tooth will blend
in beautifully with your existing teeth.
Essentially, a root canal treatment is similar to having
a tooth filled so it’s not as bad as some people would
have you believe!
